AROUND THE STATE

AUSTIN (AP) -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for April 16. (Report also available on Web as www.txfishing.com.)

CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water clear. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on live bait, frozen shrimp, liver, and bloodbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON: Water clear; 66 degrees; 0.26' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and minnows. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. White bass are slow. Crappie are excellent on green tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs and shrimp. Yellow catfish are good on juglines baited with live perch.

BROWNWOOD: Water clear to stained; 64 degrees; 1.31' low. Black bass to 7 pounds are excellent on chartreuse Bass Hogg spinnerbaits, craw Bass Hogg jigs, Persuader crankbaits, and watermelon red GrandeBass 6" Rattle Snakes along the shoreline, among rocks, and near dead grass in 15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass to 2 pounds are good on Li'l Fishies and crankbaits from lighted docks at night. Crappie are excellent on Li'l Fishies and jigs near stick ups in 15 feet and near the Hwy. 279 Bridge. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN: Water clear; 66 degrees; 2.56' low. Black bass are good on JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, Curb's "erratic" jigs, and wacky rigged watermelon/red Whacky Sticks in stickups and flooded grass back in creeks and pockets in 36 feet. Striped bass are fair jigging white Curb's bucktail jigs and drifting live bait around Shaw Island in 1530 feet. White bass are good vertically jigging Bleeding Shad Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows above Paradise Point. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines and trotlines above Paradise Point.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 65 degrees; 0.19' low. Black bass are good on green pumpkin Whacky Sticks on jigheads, JDC spider Grubs, and grape Scoundrel worms on shaky jigheads in clear water along 6-12 foot break lines. Striped bass are fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on down riggers, and vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows and white 1/4oz. Curb's striper jigs. White bass are fair vertically are fair vertically jigging 1/4oz. Pirk Minnows, and trolling Shad Raps and Daiwa Shad Masters in 1020 feet. Smallmouth bass are good on root beer JDC curl tail grubs, Rat-L-Traps, and 6" watermelon Scoundrels on jigheads along main lake points and ledges in 615 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on live bait.

COLEMAN: Water clear; 66 degrees; 1.45' low. Black bass are fair on soft plastic lizards, crankbaits, jerkbaits, and moccasin blue worms. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water murky. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp.

FAYETTE: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees. Black bass are good on shallow running shad colored crankbaits over grass, and on watermelon and watermelon seed Carolina rigged soft plastic worms along the outside edges of grass in 68 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow.

GRANBURY: Water clear; 0.56' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon green soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on minnows and white striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and chartreuse spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and shrimp.

GRANGER: Water murky; 68 degrees; 0.14' high. Black bass are fair on black soft plastic worms and jigs around laydowns upriver. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on jigs in 112 feet. Blue catfish are fair on juglines baited with shad. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with goldfish and live perch.

LBJ: Water stained; 67 degrees; 0.25' low. Black bass are good on watermelon/chartreuse Big Pig creature baits, Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, and pumpkin JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters along break lines of flats in 5-12 feet. White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps and vertically jigging Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows under birds. Crappie are good on live minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs in clear water in 6-10 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on live bait.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water murky; 72 degrees; 0.41' high. Black bass to 10.24 pounds are good on black soft plastic worms, Sassy Shad, and minnows. White bass are slow. Crappie to 2 pounds are good on minnows, and on black/orange and red/chartreuse tube jigs with pink heads. Channel and blue catfish to 7 pounds are fair on doughbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water stained; 67 degrees; 0.14' high. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on fresh shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 67 degrees; 0.16' high. Black bass to 7.5 pounds are fair on minnows and shad. Hybrid striper are good on shad and sliver spoons. White bass are good on shad. Crappie are fair but mostly small on minnows. Channel and blue catfish to 45 pounds are fair on stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

STILLHOUSE: Water clear; 70 degrees; 0.06' high. Black bass are good on watermelon seed and watermelon candy soft plastics in 2030 feet. White bass are fair on watermelon seed and watermelon candy soft plastics in 2030 feet. Crappie are excellent on minnows early and late. Channel and blue catfish are good on chicken livers along the shoreline in the evenings. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS: Water clear; 67 degrees; 2.12' low. Black bass to 7 pounds are good on smoke grubs, chrome topwaters, and red shad flukes in 515 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on chrome spoons, white grubs, and minnows in 1018 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue/white tube jigs in 1020 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 67 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastic worms and minnows near the dam. Hybrid striper are good on minnows along the bank at night. White bass are good on shrimp and minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish to 50 pounds are excellent on minnows and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water clear; 2.14' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon seed Texas and Carolina rigged soft plastics and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on minnows and white/green striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and cheesebait.

NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water stained, 60-67 degrees; 0.37' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

BOB SANDLIN: Water off color; 62-68 degrees; 0.54' high. Black bass are fair to good on Ribbits, Texas rigged Brush Hogs and Senkos. Crappie are fair on live minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and jigging spoons. Catfish are fair on cut and prepared bait.

BRIDGEPORT: Water stained; 61-67 degrees; 0.82' low. Black bass are fair on flukes, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are fair to good on slabs and live shad. Hybrid striper are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on cut and prepared bait.

CADDO: Water stained; 62-68 degrees; 2.3' high. Black bass are fair on Senkos, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. White bass are fair on Rooster Tails and minnows. Yellow bass are fair on jigs and shrimp. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 61-68 degrees; 0.07' low. Black bass are fair to good on red Rat-L-Traps, tubes and Texas rigs. White bass are good on slabs and Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair on live bait and slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on cheese bait and nightcrawlers.

COOPER: Water lightly stained; 61-67 degrees; 2.3' high. Black bass are good on short Carolina rigs, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigged 10" Power Worms. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are fair to good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs, live shad and Sassy Shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 60-76 degrees. No report available.

FORK: Water fairly clear; 61-68 degrees; 0.43' high. Black bass are fair to good on wacky worms, Rat-L-Traps, tubes and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers under cormorant roosts.

GRAPEVINE: Water stained to murky; 62-68 degrees; 5.01' high. Black bass are fair on shaky head rigs, Texas rigs and shad pattern crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

JOE POOL: Water off color; 60-67 degrees; 0.89' high. Black bass are fair to good on jerkbaits, Texas rigs and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on minnows and slabs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained to murky; 61-67 degrees; 0.22' high. Black bass are fair to good on Senkos, Texas rigs and chatterbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

LAVON: Water stained to murky; 61-68 degrees; 1.3' high. Black bass are fair to good on shallow to medium running crankbaits, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.

LEWISVILLE: Water off color; 61-68 degrees; 1.44' high. Black bass are fair on small swimbaits, spinnerbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and Sassy Shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

MARTIN CREEK: 0.06' high. No report available.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 68-82 degrees; 0.23' low. Black bass are fair to good on firetiger crankbaits, Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

PALESTINE: Water stained; 61-68 degrees; 0.5' high. Black bass are fair to good on flukes, Senkos, spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are fair on topwaters, Sassy Shad and live shad. White bass are fair to good on Humdingers. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

RAY HUBBARD: Water stained; 61-68 degrees; 0.17' low. Black bass are fair to good on Booyah white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on TNT slabs and Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair on Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on cut and prepared bait.

RAY ROBERTS: Water stained; 61-67 degrees; 1.16' high. Black bass are good on Booyah Boogee Baits and weightless Yum Dingers. Crappie are good on Road Runners in the shallows. White bass are good under the birds on CC Jigging Spoons and Cordell Super Spots. No reports on catfish.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 62-69 degrees; 0.03' high. Black bass are fair to good on wacky rigs, Texas rigs and medium running shad pattern crankbaits. White bass are fair on slabs and live shad. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 61-68 degrees; 0.89' high. Black bass are fair to good on shallow running crankbaits, spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on live shad and slabs. Catfish are fair on stink bait.

TEXOMA: Water off color; 61-67 degrees; 3.4' high. Black bass are fair on jigs, Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Striped bass are fair to good on topwaters and live shad. Catfish are fair on cut and live shad.

WEATHERFORD: Water stained; 62-68 degrees; 0.05' low. Black bass are fair to good on tubes and Senkos. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs in. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut shad. White bass are fair on slabs and live minnows.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 61-68 degrees; 15.07' high. Black bass are fair to good on flukes, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and prepared bait.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: Water clear; 66 degrees; 9.40' low. Black bass are good on green tubes, Senkos, and spinnerbaits in 1242 feet. Striped bass are good on redfins. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and trolling hellbender crankbaits. Catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. Mexican boat permits are no longer required.

BRAUNIG: Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are excellent on liver and perch near Dead Tree Point, and down rigging spoons near the dam and jetty. Redfish are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on shrimp, cheesebait, cutbait, and liver.

CALAVERAS: Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are good on spoons and striper jigs near the dam, and on chicken livers and shad near the dam and power lines. Redfish are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are good on cutbait and liver near 181 Cove and the railroad bridge. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 1.38' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/white spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Carolina rigged soft plastics. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnow tipped jigs. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on punchbait in 1012 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 77 degrees (83 degrees at discharge); 0.60' low. Black bass to 7 pounds are good on soft plastics and spinnerbaits in 610 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows in 912 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are fair on perch and liver in 1218 feet. Yellow catfish to 5 pounds are fair on trotlines baited with live perch in 12-15 feet.

FALCON: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees. Black bass are excellent on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Carolina rigged soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water clear; 0.08' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon/green Carolina and Texas rigged soft plastics, and on spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and cheesebait.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon and pumpkinseed soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 71 degrees; 0.55' high. Black bass to 9 pounds are very good on crawdad and green soft plastics across from the marina on the north shore in 1 foot. Crappie are good on live minnows. White bass are good along the northeast shore. Bream are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 4 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live caterpillars.

LIVINGSTON: Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.12' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are excellent on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water stained; 69 degrees; 0.08' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Senkos, lizards, and Brush Hogs. White bass are excellent on spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and tube jigs in shallow areas. Bream are good on nightcrawlers and crickets. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with nightcrawlers.

STEINHAGEN: 1.50' high. No report available.

TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 69 degrees; 0.67' high. Black bass are fair on watermelon red soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on spoons in the river. Crappie are fair on chartreuse jigs under the bridge. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

PANHANDLE

GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 50 degrees; 27.24' low. Black bass are good on shad-colored crankbaits and spinnerbaits worked along outer timber line, points and drop-offs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live baits and jerkbaits along riprap. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and chrome black back jerkbaits along riprap. Walleye are good on crankbaits and live baits. Catfish are good on live and cut baits.

MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 46 degrees; 73.72' low. Black bass are fair on live bait and jerkbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on minnows and lipless crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are slow on live baits. Walleye are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on live baits.

MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 54 degrees; 75.64' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and shad-colored crankbaits off points and rocky areas, and live baits around timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and jerkbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on jerkbaits and live baits. Walleye are good on crankbaits and live baits along riprap and drop-offs. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 47 degrees; 56.56' low. Black bass are good on live baits. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on jigs and live baits. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live and prepared baits.

WEST

ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 0.92' Black bass are good on black/blue jigs, green pumpkin soft plastics and white soft plastic jerkbaits worked through in timber, and white spinnerbaits along tree lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs.

ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 2.52' low. Black bass are good on swim-blade baits and Texas-rigged worms fished shallow. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs at state park early and late in day, and around Deer Creek bridge pilings on minnows suspended 8-15 feet deep with spawning starting. White bass are slow trolling and jigging with silver slabs near Pawnee Point hump. Blue Catfish are good on juglines and drift fishing with shad or punch bait in the lower part of lake.

COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 65 degrees; 4.46' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 64 degrees; 1.47' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are slow on live baits.

HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 2.82' low. Black bass are fair on minnows along points, and black/blue or black/chartreuse jigs, and black neon soft plastics worked along timber and reeds. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid striper are good on live baits and lipless crankbaits over humps and along points. Catfish are good on live baits and cut shad.

NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 65 degrees. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair. White bass and striped bass are fair on live baits and inline spinnerbaits. Catfish are fair on live baits.

OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 0.52' low. Black bass are slow on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on live and cut baits.

O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 62 degrees; 10.40' low. Black bass are fair on shad-colored crankbaits, spinnerbaits and white pearl soft jerkbaits worked along points and tree lines, and live baits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and jerkbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained 63 degrees; 1.64' low. Black bass are fair on shad-colored crankbaits in the southern part of the lake. White bass are fair on silver slabs on the deep points in the mouth of the river and the Rock Creek area. Stripers are good below the dam on 1 oz. white jigs. Catfish are good on set lines baited with liver in the cover adjacent to Rock Creek and in the river two miles below the dam.

SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 58 degrees; 48.94' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.

STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 1.62' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live and cut baits.

SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 4.14' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 59 degrees; 31.10' low. Black bass are fair on black neon or black/blue soft plastics or jigs, white spinnerbaits, and live baits along stickups and rocky points. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Walleye are good on live baits and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live and cut baits.

WICHITA: Water turbid; 63 degrees; 1.56' low. Crappie are good near pavilion pilings and off dam. White bass and hybrid striped bass are fair on minnows or live shad in front of the dry spillway area. Channel catfish are fair drift fishing with shad and on trotlines. Boat launching is difficult due to low water conditions.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good around the islands on live shrimp and spoons. Redfish are fair to good and schooling on the north end of the lake under the birds. Redfish are good in the marsh on topwaters.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good at Blue Buck Point and the jetty on live shrimp and black/chartreuse plastics. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on live shrimp and mud minnows.

BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on Corkies and Catch 5s. Whiting, redfish and flounder are fair at Rollover Pass on live bait.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are fair to good on red shad and black Bass Assassins, Stanley Wedgetails, Sand Eels and Trout Killers on the east shoreline. Redfish have been schooling in the middle of the bay.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Redfish are good in the marsh on plastics and live shrimp. Trout are good on the reefs when the wind allows. Redfish are fair to good on spoons and live bait around April Fool's Reef.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Redfish are fair to good from the piers and passes on cut-mullet and live shrimp. Black drum are good in the Ship Channel on cracked crabs. Trout are good on the reefs on live shrimp.

TEXAS CITY: Trout are fair to good at the jetty on live shrimp. Black drum and trout are fair to good on live shrimp from the dike. Redfish are fair in Moses Lake on shrimp and mullet.

FREEPORT: Sandtrout and sheepshead are good dead shrimp around rock groins. Trout and redfish are fair to good for drifters in Christmas Bay on live shrimp.

EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good at Mitchell's Cut on red shad plastics and finger mullet. Redfish are fair to good in the surf on mullet and shrimp. Trout are fair to good for drifters working mid-bay reefs.

MATAGORDA: Trout and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on finger mullet and live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good at Oyster Lake on topwaters and shrimp.

PORT O'CONNOR: Trout are fair to good on the reefs in San Antonio bay on live shrimp and Corkies. Redfish are fair to good in the back lakes on live shrimp and topwaters. Trout are fair to good on the grass beds in San Antonio Bay on live shrimp and dark-colored plastics.

ROCKPORT: Trout are fair to good in Copano, San Antonio and St. Charles Bays on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on the Estes Flats on shrimp and mullet. Trout are fair to good on topwaters and live shrimp in Mesquite and Carlos Bay.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout are fair to good at the jetty on live shrimp and mullet. Red snapper is good offshore in state waters. Redfish are fair to good on shrimp on the East Flats.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are fair to good near the Causeway Bridge on live shrimp. Black drum and redfish are fair to good in Nueces Bay on live shrimp. Trout are good on the grass beds.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout, redfish, flounder and black drum are good in the Land Cut on live shrimp and plum plastics. Redfish are good on the flats of the Pure Oil Channel on live shrimp. Trout are fair to good on topwaters and plastics and around the rocks in waist-deep water.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are fair to good in the Intracoastal on live shrimp. Trout and redfish are fair on live bait at the Saucer. Trout and black drum are good at the mouth of the Land Cut on shrimptails and shrimp.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout are fair in the channels on live shrimp and black/chartreuse plastics. Redfish are fair to good around Three Islands on squid, mullet, and shrimp. Redfish, sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp.

PORT ISABEL: Trout are fair to good in Cullen Bay on red shad and plum soft plastics. Trout are good at Twin Bars on live shrimp under a popping cork. Better trout have come on topwaters for waders working the potholes.
