AROUND THE STATE
AUSTIN (AP) -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for June 18. (Report also available on Web as www.txfishing.com.)
CENTRAL
BASTROP: Water lightly stained. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are very good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
BELTON: Water murky; 83 degrees; 0.01' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are good but small on white grubs under lights at night. White bass are very good on minnows under lights at night. Crappie are good on minnows in 2025 feet under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with frozen shad in 30 feet. Yellow catfish are good on juglines baited with live perch in 30 feet.
BROWNWOOD: Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 2.88' low. Black bass are very good on watermelon flukes, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits off grass flats, and on redbug and watermelon red Grande Bass 4" finesse worms with chartreuse tails near the rocks. Hybrid striper are good trolling white/chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are very good on Li'l Fishies and minnows off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows and Li'l Fishies in 412 feet. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait in 1020 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.
BUCHANAN: Water clear; 80 degrees; 3.40' low. Black bass are good on white Curb's buzzbaits and Erratic jigs, watermelon Skip-N-Pop topwaters, and weightless Texas rigged purple flake Whacky Sticks in pockets and points in creeks in 515 feet at first light. Striped bass are fair on topwaters and Rat-L-Traps at first light on the surface over 30 feet near the Lighthouse, jigging white Curb's bucktail jigs, and drifting live bait. White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps and jigging Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps over rock piles in 2030 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and Curb's crappie jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on live bait and dip bait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on juglines and trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.
CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 79 degrees; 2.32' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Flukes, Texas rigged watermelon Whacky Sticks, and white crankbaits off points along flooded weeds and trees in 26 feet at first light. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are good on root beer JDC grubs and craws and watermelon red tubes on ball jigheads on main lake points and ledges in 815 feet. Crappie are fair to good on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows around submerged brush piles along channel break lines in 8 feet upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on juglines and trotlines upriver.
COLEMAN: Water clear; 79 degrees; 2.72' low. Black bass are very good on Rat-L-Traps, spinnerbaits, and chartreuse soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad near the park and the store. Crappie are good on minnows and Li'l Fishies at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch and chicken livers. Yellow catfish are slow.
COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water stained. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish are excellent on trotlines baited with live perch and shad, and from the bank on rod and reel baited with nightcrawlers, perch, and shad.
FAYETTE: Water clear; 90 degrees. Black bass are fair on watermelon and watermelon gold Carolina rigged soft plastics in 1018 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and cut shad in 812 feet.
GRANBURY: Water clear; 0.59' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon gold Carolina rigged soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows, Charlie slabs, and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and frozen shrimp.
GRANGER: Water murky; 81 degrees; 0.05' high. Black bass are good on jigs and soft plastic worms. White bass are fair trolling crankbaits. Crappie are good on chartreuse jigs in 615 feet. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with shad. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch and goldfish.
LBJ: Water stained; 81 degrees; 0.58' low. Black bass are fair on JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, weightless watermelon red Whacky Sticks, and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps along riprap on seawalls, docks, and water willows in 3-12 feet at daylight. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs over brush piles in 12 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.
NAVARRO MILLS: Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.01' low. Black bass are good on soft plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows off piers in 1215 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on doughbait, shrimp, and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
PROCTOR: Water stained; 81 degrees; 1.23' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and soft plastic worms early. Striped bass are excellent on live shad. White bass are excellent on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with goldfish. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 80 degrees; 0.43' low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on nightcrawlers, minnows, and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
STILLHOUSE: Water clear; 80 degrees; 0.11' low. Black bass are good on minnows, perch, and crawfish. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on chicken livers and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
TRAVIS: Water clear; 82 degrees; 8.97' low. Black bass are good on bone topwaters, red shad worms, and smoke grubs in 1228 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on grubs, topwaters, and chrome jigging spoons in 1030 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and fresh cut perch in 2035 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 80 degrees. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows, crickets, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.
WHITNEY: Water clear; 2.85' low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows, pet spoons, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and yellow tube jigs. Catfish are good on frozen shrimp, stinkbait, and live bait.
NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water stained, 80-86 degrees; 0.17' high. Black bass are good on soft plastic frogs and buzzbaits early, later switching to Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.
BOB SANDLIN: Water off color; 79-86 degrees; 0.28' high. Black bass are fair to good on Stanley Ribbits and topwater plugs early, later switching to Carolina rigs and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
BRIDGEPORT: Water lightly stained; 79-85 degrees; 0.29' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to chatterbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. No report on hybrid striper.
CADDO: Water stained; 80-87 degrees; 0.72' high. Black bass are good on Scum Frogs, Senkos and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Little Georges. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.
CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 79-86 degrees; 0.26' low. Black bass are good on buzzbaits, jigs and Texas rigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. Hybrid striper are good on swim baits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
COOPER: Water lightly stained; 79-85 degrees; 0.02' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs and Senkos. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on Rooster Tails and Little Georges. Hybrid striper are good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 82-89 degrees. No report available.
FORK: Water lightly stained; 80-86 degrees; 0.6' high. Black bass are fair to good soft plastic frogs, Rat-L-Traps, Senkos and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows around the bridges and over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
GRAPEVINE: Water off color; 81-86 degrees; 0.16' high. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Texas rigs and wacky rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Rooster Tails, topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are good on cut bait and nightcrawlers.
JOE POOL: Water off color; 79-86 degrees; 0.05' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are good on Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and cut shad.
LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 79-86 degrees; 2.21' high. Black bass are fair to good on Yellow Magics and Ribbit Frogs early, later switching to Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
LAVON: Water stained; 79-86 degrees; 0.18' low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Senkos and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs moving to deeper water. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.
LEWISVILLE: Water off color; 79-87 degrees; 0.05' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around the bridges. White bass are good on Humdingers and Rooster Tails. Hybrid striper are fair on Humdingers and large Rooster Tails. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.
MARTIN CREEK: 0.58' low. No report available.
MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 81-89 degrees; 0.09' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and chrome Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.
PALESTINE: Water stained; 80-86 degrees; 0.02' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and pearl shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Hybrid striper are white bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on cut shad.
RAY HUBBARD: Water stained; 79-86 degrees; 0.04' high. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Carolina rigs and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around the bridges and in the marinas. White bass are excellent on topwaters and Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Humdingers and Sassy Shad. Catfish are fair to good on cut and prepared bait.
RAY ROBERTS: Water clear to lightly stained; 78-85 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass are good on XCalibur Jimmys early, later switching to Booyah Boogie Baits and fork-tail Yum Dingers. Crappie are excellent around isolated trees on jigs and minnows. White bass are excellent on CC Jigging Spoons in 18-36 feet. No reports on catfish.
RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 79-86 degrees; 0.3' low. Black bass are fair to good on Senkos, Texas rigs and jigs. White bass are good on tail spinners and topwaters. Hybrid striper are fair to good on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs moving to deeper water. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 79-86 degrees; 0.31' high. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and wacky rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and minnows. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair topwaters and live shad. Catfish are fair on cut shad and nightcrawlers.
TEXOMA: Water off color; 77-82 degrees; 0.79' low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Striped bass are good on topwaters, swim baits and live shad. Catfish are fair to good on cut and live shad.
WEATHERFORD: Water stained; 80-86 degrees; 0.65' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits and Texas rigged Power Worms. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers. White bass are good on Humdingers and minnows.
WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 78-82 degrees; 7.25' high. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, Senkos and finesse jigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared baits.
SOUTH
AMISTAD: Water clear; 86 degrees; 17.47' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse Yamamoto Senkos, topwaters, Zoom Super Flukes, and Carolina rigged 10" soft plastic worms in 1628 feet. Striped bass are fair on large red fins near the dam. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish to 4 pounds are good on cheesebait and punchbait in 1622 feet, and in 94 feet. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. Mexican boat permits are no longer required.
BRAUNIG: Water stained; 80 degrees. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and dark soft plastic worms in reeds and near the dam. Striped bass are good on liver and perch off points near the pier. Redfish are excellent on perch, shad, and silver spoons. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cut bait, and cheesebait near the dam.
CALAVERAS: Water stained; 80 degrees. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on spoons and striper jigs between the dam and the crappie wall, and on chicken livers and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are excellent down rigging silver and gold spoons in 1020 feet, on live perch and tilapia along the shoreline, and on live bait along the crappie wall. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are excellent on liver and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained; 91 degrees; 2.29' low. Black bass are very good on crankbaits and large soft plastic lizards and worms. Crappie are slow. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are very good on stinkbait in 510 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.
COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 90 degrees (96 degrees at discharge); 1.86' low. Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on soft plastics and topwaters in 48 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
FALCON: Water clear; 81 degrees. Black bass are good on Carolina rigged large soft plastic worms and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. SOUTHEAST
CONROE: Water clear; 0.37' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Carolina rigged soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are good on silver/gold striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and green and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and bait shrimp.
GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon red soft plastic worms with chartreuse tails. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue/black tube jigs. Catfish are very good on stinkbait, cut bait, and frozen shrimp.
HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 87 degrees; 0.20' high. Black bass to 5 pounds are fair on bream colored Rat-L-Traps on the southeast side of the lake in 5 feet early and late. Crappie are fair on live minnows off piers at night and around structure near the pump station in 1214 feet. White bass are good along the northeast shore. Bream are good on live worms off piers and near grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are fair on trotlines baited with shad.
LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 85 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass are good on soft plastics and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on hellbenders, pet spoons, and green Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 1.60' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse jigs over brush piles. Bream are fair on crickets and nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, liver, and cut bait.
STEINHAGEN: 0.61' high. No report available.
TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 81 degrees; 0.49' low. Black bass are good but small on redbug and watermelon red soft plastic worms and crankbaits in the boating lanes. Striped bass are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are fair on silver spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and blue/green tube jigs over baited holes in 20 feet. Bream are good on nightcrawlers and crickets in 28 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, stinkbait, livers, and hearts. Yellow catfish are slow.
PANHANDLE
GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 26.44' low. Black bass are fair on topwater lures, white spinnerbaits, and black/blue jigs worked around rocky points, timber and grass lines. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live baits, topwater lures, and shad-colored crankbaits along riprap. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits, white spinnerbaits or crankbaits along riprap. Walleye are good on live baits and jerkbaits. Catfish are good on live baits and prepared baits.
MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 76.06' low. Black bass are fair on live bait, shad-colored crankbaits, and watermelon soft plastics. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on minnows and shad-colored Rat-L-Traps. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits and chrome jerkbaits. Walleye are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on live baits.
MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 77.50' low. Black bass are fair on topwater lures, white spinnerbaits, and Texas-rigged soft live baits off rocky points, timber and grass lines. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and shad-colored crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on shad-colored spinnerbaits and live baits. Walleye are fair on live baits along riprap. Channel catfish are good on live baits. Note: Boat launching is limited due to low water conditions.
PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 60.83' low. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits. Walleye are fair on live baits. Channel catfish are good on prepared baits.
WEST
ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 82 degrees; 2.17' low. Black bass are good on white buzzbaits or spinnerbaits, black/blue jigs and dark soft plastics along timber lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs.
ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 3.29' low. Black bass are good on swim-blade baits and spinnerbaits along rocky points and vegetation. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs at state park, and around flooded timber and mesquites in 6-8 feet. White bass are good shallow while chasing shad. Catfish are good on juglines and drift fishing with shad or punch bait.
COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 79 degrees; 6.75' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.
FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 77 degrees; 0.33' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 1.17' low. Black bass are fair on minnows, shad-colored spinnerbaits or Baby One Minus crankbaits along points and grass lines, or dark red glitter jigs worked along reeds with timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid striper are good on live baits and baby bass crankbaits along humps and rocky points. Catfish are good on live baits.
NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 78 degrees. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair on live baits. White bass and striped bass are good on shad-colored crankbaits and live baits. Catfish are fair on cut and prepared baits.
OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 1.39' low. Black bass are fair on live baits and white spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut baits.
O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 11.76' low. Black bass are fair on topwater lures, shad-colored spinnerbaits, or watermelon red soft jerkbaits worked along tree lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and shad-colored crankbaits along points. Channel catfish are good on live baits.
POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained 81 degrees; 1.50' low. Black bass are slow on small silver crankbaits in the back of coves in the south end. Crappie are slow on small jigs worked along deep points in the mid-lake area. White bass are slow on small shad-colored crankbaits in the mid-lake area coves. Catfish are good on worms in coves by the dam.
SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 50.73' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.
STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 77 degrees; 1.79' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 1.46' low. Black bass are slow on live baits. Crappie are slow on live baits and jigs. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow on live baits.
WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 82 degrees; 30.73' low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin large soft plastic tubes or black/blue jigs worked along stickups and timber, and live baits or white spinnerbaits along rocky points near drop-offs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Walleye are good on live baits and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live baits.
WICHITA: Water turbid; 82 degrees; 1.14' low. Crappie are slow near pavilion pilings and on trotlines. White bass and hybrid striped bass are fair on minnows or live shad in front of the spillway area. Channel catfish are fair drift fishing with shad and on trotlines. Boat launching is difficult due to low water conditions.
COASTAL
NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good in the river on shad. Trout and redfish are good under birds on live shad, Trout Killers, Bass Assassins and Sand Eels.
SOUTH SABINE: Trout are good from the Causeway Pier at night under the lights on live shrimp and tandem-rigged Bass Assassins, Little Fishies and DOA Shrimp. Redfish are good at the jetty and in the middle of the lake on live shad and shrimp. Trout are good around the rocks on topwaters.
BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good on MirrOlures at the pass. Redfish are good in the surf on cut-bait. Gafftop, sand trout and flounder are good at the Pass on live bait.
TRINITY BAY: Waters are clearing in the bay. Trout are fair while drifting slicks on shrimptails, Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout, sand trout, redfish and croaker are fair on live bait at the Spillway.
EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair while drifting shell on plastics. Live shrimp have worked, too. Trout are fair to good on croakers along the Ship Channel.
WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair off the spoil banks on croaker. Gafftop, sand trout and whiting are good from the beachfront piers on live bait. Redfish are fair to good on the shell on live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout are fair at night from the beachfront piers on live shrimp.
TEXAS CITY: Trout are fair to good on croaker on the Dollar Flats. Redfish are good in Moses Lake on live shrimp. Trout are fair off the end of the dike on DOA Shrimp.
FREEPORT: Trout are fair at San Luis Pass on shrimp. Trout and redfish are fair in Christmas Bay while drifting with live shrimp. High tides have pushed fish into the back lakes.
EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good while drifting scattered shell with live shrimp. Redfish are fair in Lake Austin on live shrimp.
MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on Bass Assassins, Sand Eel Jars and Trout Killers. Redfish and black drum are fair in Oyster Lake on live shrimp under a popping cork.
PORT O'CONNOR: Trout are fair while drifting the flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout are fair in Keller Bay on Electric Chicken Bass Assassins and Hogies. Redfish and sharks are good on live shrimp and mullet at the jetty and in the surf. Trout are fair on topwaters around Grass Island.
ROCKPORT: Trout are fair to good on the outside of Traylor Island and on the Estes Flats on croaker and live shrimp. Trout are fair to good around Mud Island and Super Flats on Super Spooks and She Dogs.
PORT ARANSAS: Sharks are good around the jetty and on the beachfront on finger mullet and shad. Redfish are fair to good around Pelican Island on live shrimp. Offshore is good for snapper, ling, Wahoo and kingfish.
CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout and redfish are fair to good on live shrimp and croaker around the reefs in Nueces Bay. Trout and redfish are good around the causeway on live shrimp and pumpkinseed Trout Killers, Bass Assassins and Sand Eels. Redfish are fair to good on the East Flats on live shrimp.
BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good over sand and grass on plastics and topwaters. Drop-offs around the spoil islands have held trout on topwaters and soft plastics. Trout are good at night in the Land Cut on DOA Shrimp and glow plastics.
PORT MANSFIELD: Trout and redfish are good while wading flats adjacent to East Cut on Super Spooks and Pop-Rs. Trout and are fair to good on live shrimp and plastics on the grass beds in West Bay. Trout and redfish are good on topwaters while drifting the east shoreline.
SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are fair to good while drifting the flats and bars on limetreuse and plum Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. A few tarpon are beginning to show at the jetty. Snook are fair to good on shrimp and DOA Shrimp in South Bay.
PORT ISABEL: Trout are good while drifting sand and grass on soft plastics under rattling corks. Higher tides have pushed redfish on the flats where anglers have taken good fish on small topwaters.
