AUSTIN (AP) -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for July 2. (Report also available on Web as www.txfishing.com.)
CENTRAL
BASTROP: Water lightly stained. Black bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.
BELTON: Water murky; 83 degrees; 0.21' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are good but small on white grubs under lights at night. White bass are very good on minnows under lights at night. Crappie are good on minnows in 20-25 feet under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with frozen shad in 30 feet. Yellow catfish are good on juglines baited with live perch in 30 feet.
BROWNWOOD: Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 2.58' low. Black bass are very good on watermelon flukes, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits off grass flats, and on redbug and watermelon red Grande Bass 4" finesse worms with chartreuse tails near the rocks. Hybrid striper are good trolling white/chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are very good on Li'l Fishies and minnows off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows and Li'l Fishies in 4-12 feet. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait in 10-20 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.
BUCHANAN: Water clear; 79 degrees; 3.26' low. Black bass are good on white Curb's buzzbaits and Erratic jigs, watermelon Skip-N-Pop topwaters, and weightless Texas rigged purple flake Whacky Sticks in pockets and points in creeks in 5-15 feet at first light. Striped bass are fair on topwaters and Rat-L-Traps at first light on the surface over 30 feet near the Lighthouse, jigging white Curb's bucktail jigs, and drifting live bait. White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps and jigging Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps over rockpiles in 20-30 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and Curb's crappie jigs over brushpiles. Channel catfish are good on live bait and dipbait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on juglines and trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.
CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 78 degrees; 1.36' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Flukes, Texas rigged watermelon Whacky Sticks, and white crankbaits off points along flooded weeds and trees in 2-6 feet at first light. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are good on root beer JDC grubs and craws and watermelon red tubes on ball jigheads on main lake points and ledges in 8-15 feet. Crappie are fair to good on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows around submerged brushpiles along channel breaklines in 8 feet upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on juglines and trotlines upriver.
COLEMAN: Water clear; 77 degrees; 2.48' low. Black bass are very good on Rat-L-Traps, spinnerbaits, and chartreuse soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad near the park and the store. Crappie are good on minnows and Li'l Fishies at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch and chicken livers. Yellow catfish are slow.
COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water murky. Black bass are fair on minnows and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp.
FAYETTE: Water clear; 90 degrees. Black bass are fair on soft plastics in 8-16 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp over baited holes.
GRANBURY: Water clear; 0.39' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon gold Carolina rigged soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows, Charlie slabs, and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and frozen shrimp.
GRANGER: Water murky; 80 degrees; 0.18' high. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on jigs and soft plastic worms. White bass are fair trolling crankbaits. Crappie to 2 pounds are good on chartreuse jigs in 6-15 feet. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with shad. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch and goldfish.
LBJ: Water stained; 80 degrees; 0.44' low. Black bass are fair on JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, weightless watermelon red Whacky Sticks, and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps along riprap on seawalls, docks, and water willows in 3-12 feet at daylight. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs over brushpiles in 12 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.
NAVARRO MILLS: Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.15' high. Black bass to 8.5 pounds are good on soft plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows off piers in 12 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on doughbait, shrimp, and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
PROCTOR: Water clear; 81 degrees; 0.83' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and soft plastic worms early. Striped bass are fair on live shad. White bass are good on small shad and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on live shad and cut shad in the Onion Valley area. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 79 degrees; 0.26' low. Black bass are fair on minnows and shad. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows in creeks. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on nightcrawlers, minnows, and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
STILLHOUSE: Water lightly stained; 79 degrees; 0.03' high. Black bass are good on minnows, perch, crawfish, and plum Zoom super flukes in 1530 feet. White bass are very good on watermelon red Super Flukes, crawfish, and minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are very good on chicken livers and corn. Yellow catfish are slow.
TRAVIS: Water clear; 80 degrees; 6.86' low. Black bass to 4 pounds are good on bone topwaters, red shad worms, and smoke grubs in 1228 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on grubs, topwaters, and chrome jigging spoons in 1030 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 8 pounds are good on nightcrawlers and fresh cut perch in 2035 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 79 degrees. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Red ear perch are excellent on nightcrawlers in the weeds. Channel and blue catfish to 8 pounds are good on minnows in the reeds. Yellow catfish are slow.
WHITNEY: Water clear; 2.51' low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows, pet spoons, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and yellow tube jigs. Catfish are good on frozen shrimp, stinkbait, and live bait.
NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water stained, 78-83 degrees; 0.17' high. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics and buzzbaits early, midday switching to crankbaits, Texas rigs and split shot rigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows and setting up on deeper structure. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
BOB SANDLIN: Water off color; 78-84 degrees; 0.28' high. Black bass are fair to good on Stanley Ribbits, shad pattern Senkos and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles and around bridge columns. White bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
BRIDGEPORT: Water lightly stained; 77-81 degrees; 0.29' low. Black bass are fair on topwaters early, midmorning switching to Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and medium running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. Hybrid striper are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
CADDO: Water stained; 78-83 degrees; 0.72' high. Black bass are fair to good on wacky rigs and jigs around stand alone cypress trees. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on chartreuse Road Runners. Catfish are fair to good on red wigglers and cut bait.
CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 79-83 degrees; 0.26' low. Black bass are good on soft plastic frogs early, soft plastics fished shallow throughout the day and medium diving shad pattern crankbaits. White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and Humdingers. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs near deeper structure. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
COOPER: Water lightly stained; 78-81 degrees; 0.02' low. Black bass are good on buzzbaits early and late, midday switching to Texas rigs and Senkos. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on Rooster Tails and Little Georges. Hybrid striper are good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 82-89 degrees. No report available.
FORK: Water lightly stained; 78-83 degrees; 0.6' high. Black bass are fair to good on buzzbaits and frogs early, and throughout the day on crankbaits, Texas rigs and wacky rigs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows around the bridges and over brush piles. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
GRAPEVINE: Water off color; 78-82 degrees; 0.16' high. Black bass are good to excellent on crankbaits, 4" Senkos and shaky heads. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs setting up deep. White bass are good on Rooster Tails, topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.
JOE POOL: Water off color; 79-83 degrees; 0.05' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, wacky rigs and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are good on Little Georges and Road Runners. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and cut shad.
LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 78-82 degrees; 2.21' high. Black bass are fair to good on Pop Rs early, Texas rigs, chartreuse/white spinnerbaits and jerkbaits. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
LAVON: Water stained; 78-84 degrees; 0.18' low. Black bass are fair to good on medium diving shad or firetiger crankbaits, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs moving to deeper water. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.
LEWISVILLE: Water off color; 79-84 degrees; 0.05' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around the bridges. White bass are good on Humdingers and Rooster Tails. Hybrid striper are fair on Humdingers and large Rooster Tails. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.
MARTIN CREEK: 0.58' low. No report available.
MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 81-89 degrees; 0.09' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and chrome Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.
PALESTINE: Water stained; 78-84 degrees; 0.02' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and pearl shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Hybrid striper are white bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on cut shad.
RAY HUBBARD: Water stained; 78-83 degrees; 0.04' high. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Carolina rigs and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around the bridges and in the marinas. White bass are excellent on topwaters and Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Humdingers and Sassy Shad. Catfish are fair to good on cut and prepared bait.
RAY ROBERTS: Water clear to lightly stained; 79-82 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass are very good on Booyah double blade buzzbaits, later switching to split shot rigged fork tail Yum Dingers. Crappie are excellent over brush piles and around isolated trees on jigs and minnows. White bass are excellent on Zara Spooks and CC Jigging Spoons (follow the birds). Catfish are excellent on cut bait.
RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 78-84 degrees; 0.3' low. Black bass are fair to good on Senkos, Texas rigs and jigs. White bass are good on tail spinners and topwaters. Hybrid striper are fair to good on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs moving to deeper water. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 78-83 degrees; 0.31' high. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and wacky rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and minnows. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair topwaters and live shad. Catfish are fair on cut shad and nightcrawlers.
TEXOMA: Water off color; 77-82 degrees; 0.79' low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Striped bass are good to excellent on topwaters and live shad. Catfish are fair to good on cut and live shad.
WEATHERFORD: Water stained; 78-83 degrees; 0.65' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits and Texas rigged Power Worms. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers. White bass are good on Humdingers and minnows.
WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 78-82 degrees; 7.25' high. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, Senkos and finesse jigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared baits.
SOUTHEAST
CONROE: Water clear; 0.24' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Carolina rigged soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are good on silver/gold striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and green and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and bait shrimp.
GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon red soft plastic worms with chartreuse tails. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue/black tube jigs. Catfish are very good on stinkbait, cutbait, and frozen shrimp.
HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 82 degrees; 0.26' high. Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on medium running shad crankbaits in 12 feet early and late. Crappie are fair on live minnows around structure near the pump station 12 feet deep in 1520 feet. White bass are good along the northeast shore. Bream are fair on live worms off piers and near grass beds. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are fair on trotlines baited with shad.
LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 84 degrees; 0.02' high. Black bass are good on soft plastics and crankbaits. Striped bass to 20" are good on Rat-L-Traps and Charlie Slabs. White bass are good on hellbenders, pet spoons, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 79 degrees; 1.64' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse jigs over brushpiles. Bream are fair on crickets and nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, liver, and cutbait.
STEINHAGEN: 1.38' high. No report available.
TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 80 degrees; 0.49' low. Black bass are good but small on redbug and watermelon red soft plastic worms and crankbaits in the boating lanes. Striped bass are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are fair on silver spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and blue/green tube jigs over baited holes in 20 feet. Bream are good on nightcrawlers and crickets in 28 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, stinkbait, livers, and hearts. Yellow catfish are slow.
SOUTH
AMISTAD: Water clear; 80 degrees; 17.41' low. Black bass are very good on Yamamoto Senkos, topwaters, swimbaits, Lucky Craft jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on large red fins and topwaters. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish are fair on cheesebait. Yellow catfish are slow. . Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. Mexican boat permits are no longer required.
BRAUNIG: Water stained; 79 degrees. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and dark soft plastic worms in reeds and near the dam. Striped bass are good on liver and perch off points near the pier. Redfish are excellent on perch, shad, and silver spoons. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cutbait, and cheesebait near the dam.
CALAVERAS: Water stained; 79 degrees. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on spoons and striper jigs between the dam and the crappie wall, and on chicken livers and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are excellent down rigging silver and gold spoons in 1020 feet, on live perch and tilapia along the shoreline, and on live bait along the crappie wall. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are excellent on liver and cutbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained; 91 degrees; 2.08' low. Black bass are very good on crankbaits and large soft plastic lizards and worms. Crappie are slow. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are very good on stinkbait in 510 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.
COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 81 degrees (90 degrees at discharge); 1.60' low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in 1015 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live perch and nightcrawlers in 1218 feet. Yellow catfish to 14 pounds are fair on trotlines baited with live perch in 1218 feet.
FALCON: Water stained; 80 degrees. Black bass are good on large soft plastic worms and crankbaits. Channel and blue catfish are good on cutbait and stinkbait in the river. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. Mexican boat permits are no longer required.
PANHANDLE
GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 25.22' low. Black bass to five pounds are good on topwater lures, shad-colored crankbaits, and black/chartruese jigs worked around large timber or grass lines. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live baits, topwater lures, and shad-colored crankbaits along riprap. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits, white spinnerbaits or crankbaits along riprap. Walleye are good on live baits and jerkbaits. Catfish are good on live baits and prepared baits.
MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 71 degrees; 74.12' low. Black bass are fair on live bait, shad-colored crankbaits, and watermelon soft plastics. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on minnows . Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits and jerkbaits. Walleye are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on live baits.
MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 76.37' low. Black bass are fair on topwater lures, white spinnerbaits, black/blue jigs and Texas-rigged soft live baits off rocky points and grass lines, and white spinnerbaits or live baits around timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and shad-colored crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on shad-colored spinnerbaits and live baits. Walleye are good on live baits along riprap and drop-offs. Channel catfish are good on live baits. Note: Boat launching is limited due to low water conditions.
PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 71 degrees; 58.64' low. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits. Walleye are fair on live baits. Channel catfish are good on prepared baits.
WEST
ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.89' low. Black bass are good on white buzzbaits or spinnerbaits, black/blue jigs, and pumpkin seed soft plastics along timber lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs.
ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 2.70' low. Black bass are good on swim-blade baits and spinnerbaits along rocky points and vegetation. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs at state park, Deer Creek Bridge, and shallow areas around flooded willows and mesquites in 4-6 feet. White bass are good schooling off rocky points in the lower part of lake and chasing shad in vegetation. Catfish are good on juglines and drift fishing with shad or punch bait.
COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 75 degrees; 6.22' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.
FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 74 degrees; 1.92' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 77 degrees; 0.53' low. Black bass are fair on minnows, shad-colored spinnerbaits or buzzbaits along points and grasslines, or black/blue jigs worked along reeds with timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid striper are good on live baits and baby bass crankbaits along humps and rocky points. Catfish are good on live baits.
NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair on live baits. White bass and striped bass are good on shad-colored crankbaits and live baits. Catfish are fair on cut baits.
OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 1.07' low. Black bass are fair on live baits and white spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cutbaits.
O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 10.88' low. Black bass are good on topwater lures, shad-colored crankbaits and spinnerbaits, or watermelon soft jerkbaits worked along tree lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and shad-colored crankbaits along points. Channel catfish are good on live baits.
POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained 75 degrees; 0.54' low. Black bass are slow on Senkos, Flukes and silver Rat-L-Traps in the back of coves in the mid-lake area. Crappie are good on small jigs worked on wood structures in the mid-lake area creeks. White bass are fair on silver crankbaits in the south end of the reservoir on flats adjacent to creek channels. Catfish are fair on worms in the Rock Creek area coves.
SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 50.71' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.
STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 1.98' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 71 degrees; 1.73' low. Black bass are slow on live baits. Crappie are slow on live baits and jigs. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow on live baits.
WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 28.77' low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin large soft plastic tubes or black/blue jigs worked along stickups and timber, and live baits along rocky points near drop-offs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Walleye are good on live baits and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live baits.
WICHITA: Water turbid; 76 degrees; 1.15' low. Crappie are fair near pavilion pilings and off dam. White bass and hybrid striped bass are fair on minnows or live shad in front of the dry spillway area. Channel catfish are fair drift fishing with shad and on trotlines. Boat launching is difficult due to low water conditions.
COASTAL
NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good on She Dogs and Super Spooks around Stewts and Sydney Island. Trout and redfish are good under birds in the afternoon on topwaters, Bass Assassins and Sand Eels.
SOUTH SABINE: Trout are good from the Causeway Pier at night under the lights on live shrimp and tandem-rigged Bass Assassins, Little Fishies and DOA Shrimp. Redfish are good at the jetty and in the middle of the lake on live shad and shrimp.
BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good in the surf and at Rollover Pass on Little Fishies and live shrimp. Redfish are good in the surf on cut-bait. Gafftop, sand trout and flounder are good at the Pass on live bait.
TRINITY BAY: Trout are fair while drifting deeper shell reefs and slicks on glow/chartreuse, pumpkinseed/chartreuse and plum shrimptails, Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout, sand trout, redfish and croaker are fair on live bait at the Spillway.
EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout and flounder are fair on the shorelines on plastics and shrimp. Trout are fair to good in the Ship Channel on croaker.
WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair off the spoil banks on croaker. Gafftop, sand trout and whiting are good from the beachfront piers on live bait. Redfish are fair to good on the shell on live shrimp under a popping cork.
TEXAS CITY: Trout are fair to good on croaker on the Dollar Flats. Redfish are good in Moses Lake on live shrimp.
FREEPORT: Redfish are fair to good at the Boilers on finger mullet and shrimp. Trout and redfish are fair in Christmas Bay while drifting with live shrimp.
EAST MATAGORDA: Redfish and flounder are fair at the Oyster Farm and at Three Mile on live shrimp, Sand Eels, Trout Killers and Bass Assassins. Redfish are fair at Boggy on live shrimp.
MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on morning glory and pepper/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Sand Eel Jrs and She Dogs. Redfish and black drum are fair in Oyster Lake on live shrimp under a popping cork.
PORT O'CONNOR: Trout are fair while drifting the flats on live shrimp under a popping cork and She Dogs. Redfish and sharks are good on live shrimp and mullet at the jetty and in the surf.
ROCKPORT: Trout are fair to good on the outside of Traylor Island and on the Estes Flats on croaker and live shrimp. Waders have found refuge on the St. Joe shoreline.
PORT ARANSAS: Redfish are fair to good around Pelican Island on live shrimp. Offshore is good for snapper, ling, wahoo and kingfish for those willing to brave the rough seas.
CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout and redfish are fair to good on live shrimp and croaker around the reefs in Nueces Bay. Trout and redfish are good around the causeway on live shrimp and pumpkinseed Trout Killers, Bass Assassins and Sand Eels.
BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good on the King Ranch shoreline and around the rocks on croaker, live shrimp and chartreuse Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eel Jrs. Trout are fair to good at Rocky Slough on plastics and live shrimp. Trout are good at night in the Land Cut on DOA Shrimp and glow plastics.
PORT MANSFIELD: Trout and are fair to good on live shrimp and plastics on the grass beds in West Bay. Trout and redfish are good on topwaters while drifting the Saucer and Target Markers.
SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are fair to good while drifting the flats and bars on limetreuse and plum Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout are fair to good the Gas-Well Flats on live shrimp under a popping cork.
PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are fair to good at Laguna Vista and Holly Beach on She Dogs, Super Spooks and live shrimp. Tarpon and snook are fair to good at the jetty on DOA Shrimp. Rough seas and winds have made it tough offshore.
