AROUND THE STATE

AUSTIN -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for May 20. (Full report available on Web at BrazosOutdoors.com.)

CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon red crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles in 20-25 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on live bait and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON: Water clear; 72 degrees; 0.28' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits along the banks. Hybrid striper are good but small on shad at night. White bass are good on shad at night. Crappie are good on minnows in 18-20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live perch and live shad.

BROWNWOOD: Water stained; 73 degrees; 6.16' low. Black bass are excellent on Grande Bass Rattle Snakes, Bass Hogg spinnerbaits, and craw colored crankbaits in 45 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are excellent on Li'l Fishies, small Rat-L-Traps, and shad colored crankbaits. Crappie are excellent on Li'l Fishies and tube jigs along shorelines in the Pecan Bayou and Mountain View areas, and along the 279 bridge in 1-3 feet. Channel catfish are good in baited holes in 5-10 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch.

BUCHANAN: Water clear; 73 degrees; 16.28' low. Black bass are good on Daiquiri Skip-N-Pop topwaters, Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, and weightless wacky rigged green pumpkin Whacky Sticks with chartreuse tails along break lines of creek bluffs early in 4-12 feet, and areas with submerged brush in pockets of creeks. Striped bass to 23" are good on topwaters and Rat-L-Traps from Flag Island to Black Rock on the surface at first light in 20-30 feet, jigging white Curb's bucktail jigs, and drifting live bait through schools. White bass are slow to fair trolling Shad Raps and jigging Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps over rock piles in 20-30 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and Curb's crappie jigs. Channel catfish are good on live bait and cut bait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines and trotlines baited with live bait.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 71 degrees; 12.28' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged watermelon red Whacky Sticks, JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, and pumpkin ºoz. Curb's Erratic jigs in 6-12 feet along bluff ledges. Striped bass are slow to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits and vertically jigging white Curb's striper jigs. White bass are fair on Road Runners upriver in 4-8 feet. Smallmouth bass are good on root beer JDC curl tail grubs/craws, smoke/red tubes, and silver flake Whacky Sticks on ball jigheads along main lake points and ledges in 10-15 feet. Crappie are fair to good on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows around submerged brush piles along break lines. Channel catfish are fair in the upper end of the lake. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on juglines and trotlines in creeks.

COLEMAN: Water clear; 71 degrees; 7.13' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red soft plastic lizards, crankbaits, and electric blue worms. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water lightly stained. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait and nightcrawlers.

FAYETTE: Water clear; 75 degrees. Black bass are good on shad patterned shallow running crankbaits and Texas and Carolina rigged soft plastic worms in 4-20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with shrimp and shad in 10 12 feet.

GRANBURY: Water clear; 1.78' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and chartreuse soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on white bucktail jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and watermelon spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and frozen shrimp.

GRANGER: Water murky; 74 degrees; 2.08' low. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits in 2-3 feet. White bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps around points and shallow roadbeds. Crappie are good on black and yellow jigs in 4-12 feet. Blue catfish are good on shad near Willis Creek. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch.

LBJ: Water stained; 74 degrees; 0.51' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Flukes, watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, and weightless green pumpkin wacky rigged Whacky Sticks along riprap on seawalls and break lines of flats early in 4-10 feet. White bass are slow to fair trolling Shad Raps. Crappie are very good on minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs over brush piles in 10 feet. Channel catfish are good on minnows and dipbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch and carp.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water stained; 71 degrees; 0.23' high. Black bass are good on soft plastic worms and spinnerbaits. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on shad among stumps in 14 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water stained; 71 degrees; 5.66' low. Black bass are excellent on minnows, soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are good on chartreuse striper jigs and minnows. White bass are good on minnows and shad colored crankbaits. Crappie are excellent on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on shad. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 78 degrees; 0.86' low. Black bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps and minnows. Hybrid striper are good on crawfish and super spoons. White bass are good on crawfish and super spoons. Crappie are good on minnows, black/chartreuse jigs with red heads, and super shad jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait and SureShot in 2 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

STILLHOUSE: Water clear; 86 degrees; 1.53' low. Black bass are good on minnows. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS: Water stained; 73 degrees; 27.91' low. Black bass are good on chrome topwaters, June bug worms, and grubs in 5-18 feet. Striped bass are fair on chrome topwaters and smoke grubs in 10-20 feet. White bass are good on chrome topwaters, smoke grubs, and white shad raps in 8-25 feet. Crappie are fair on blue/white tube jigs and roadrunners. Channel and blue catfish are fair on fresh cut bait and nightcrawlers in 15-25 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 74 degrees. Black bass are very good on shad. Hybrid striper are fair on shad and crankbaits. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers, frozen shad, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water stained; 9.17' low. Black bass are good on watermelon, watermelon red, and pumpkinseed Texas and Carolina rigged soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on white/green striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows, Charlie slabs, pet spoons, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and Li'l Fishies. Catfish are good on frozen shrimp and stinkbait.

NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water lightly stained, 69-74 degrees; 0.23' high. Black bass are good on Senkos, Texas rigs, Rat-L-Traps and wacky rigs with a few fish starting to show up on topwater. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

BOB SANDLIN: Water stained; 68-74 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, wacky rigs and jerkbaits. White bass are fair to good on slabs and Humdingers. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines and juglines. Bream are good on cut nightcrawlers.

BRIDGEPORT: Water fairly clear; 68-75 degrees; 8.29' low. Black bass are fair on shad pattern crankbaits, white/chartreuse spinnerbaits and watermelon seed lizards. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Rooster Tails and topwaters. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut shad.

CADDO: Water off color; 70-74 degrees; 2.98' high. Black bass are good on Texas rigged 10" worms, Senkos and wacky rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines with live bait. Bream are good on red wigglers and crickets.

CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 69-75 degrees; 0.05' high. Black bass are fair on Senkos over grass and lizards along the outside of deeper grass beds also on Carolina rigs and medium running crankbaits. White bass are good on slabs over humps and topwater when surface schooling is occurring. Hybrid striper are good on Sassy Shad. Crappie are good on jigs around boathouses and over brush piles. Catfish are good on cut shad and chicken liver drifted over points.

COOPER: Water lightly stained; 68-74 degrees; 0.99' high. Black bass are fair on drop shot rigs, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on slabs and Rooster Tails. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 74-88 degrees. No report available.

FORK: Water lightly stained; 69-74 degrees; 0.54' high. Black bass are fair to good on Carolina rigs, Yellow Magics and Senkos. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.

GRAPEVINE: Water off color; 69-75 degrees; 4.14' low. Black bass are fair to good on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and soft plastics fished around the recently submerged shoreline structure and vegetation. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and slabs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

JOE POOL: Water off color; 69-75 degrees; 0.19' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, watermelon red flukes and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on cut and prepared baits.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 69-74 degrees; 7.61' high. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and drop-shot rigged finesse baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in coves and around structure. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

LAVON: Water stained; 68-75 degrees; 1.69' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, Senkos and watermelon seed lizards. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

LEWISVILLE: Water off color; 68-74 degrees; 0.18' high. Black bass are good on chatterbaits, Texas rigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.

MARTIN CREEK: 0.11' high. No report available.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 72-88 degrees; 0.82' high. No report available.

PALESTINE: Water lightly stained; 68-73 degrees; 0.04' low. Black bass are good on red shad lizards, spinnerbaits and Carolina rigged watermelon candy Brush Hogs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are slow to fair on live shad. White bass are good on Humdingers limited surface schooling occurring. Catfish are fair to good on chicken livers and nightcrawlers.

RAY HUBBARD: Water stained; 68-71 degrees; 0.02' high. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, wacky rigs and Senkos. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs in 18-24 feet and on Rat-L-Traps in 1-7 feet early. Hybrid striper are good on Rat-L-Traps in the shallows early, later switching to 4" Sassy Shad. Catfish are fair on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

RAY ROBERTS: Water muddy in the upper lake lightly stained on the main lake; 67-71 degrees; 1.23' high. Black bass to 7.9 pounds are good on Yum Dingers and Carolina rigged Ring Frys. Crappie are good on minnows and Road Runners over brush piles. White bass are excellent on C.C. Spoons and Super Spots with topwater schooling continuing on the main lake. Catfish are good in the new water around the shore (created by rising water).

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 67-72 degrees; 2.03' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and Senkos. White bass are good on Road Runners and Little George's. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in the mouths of the creeks around brush. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

TAWAKONI: Water stained; 67-70 degrees; 0.25' high. Black bass are fair on 10" worms, lizards and watermelon/red Brush Hogs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on white or chartreuse slabs and Humdingers. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow on slabs and live shad. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

TEXOMA: Water stained; 65-69 degrees; 10.8' high. There are few reports available due to the rising water. Striped bass are still being caught in numbers on live shad in 20-25 feet also on topwaters.

WEATHERFORD: Water lightly stained; 65-71 degrees; 5.67' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, suspending stickbaits and wacky rigs. Crappie are good in the crappie house and over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on worms and doughbait. White bass are fair on Humdingers. Bream are fair on worms.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water stained; 66-72 degrees; 17.29' high. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged lizards, chatterbaits and Senkos. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Rooster Tails and topwaters. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: Water clear; 74 degrees; 0.66' high. Black bass are good on soft plastics, and on topwaters in the trees. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on jigging spoons. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on cheesebait and live bait in 25-40 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

BRAUNIG: Water stained; 71 degrees. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and dark soft plastics in reeds and near the dam. Striped bass are excellent on liver and perch off points near the pier, and down rigging spoons near the dam and jetty. Redfish are good on perch, shad, and silver spoons. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on shrimp, cheesebait, cut bait, and liver near the dam.

CALAVERAS: Water stained; 71 degrees. Black bass are fair on dark soft plastic worms and crankbaits over reed beds and in the cove near the park store. Striped bass are good on spoons and striper jigs near the dam and the crappie wall, and on chicken livers and shad near the dam and power lines. Redfish are excellent down rigging silver and gold spoons in 10-20 feet, on live perch, tilapia, and crawfish near the power lines, and on live bait along the crappie wall. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are good on cut bait and liver near 181 Cove and the railroad bridge. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water clear; 73 degrees; 6.90' low. Black bass are good on deep running crankbaits and watermelon red lizards, and fair on spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Drum are fair on nightcrawlers and spoons. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait. Yellow catfish are fair on cut bait.

COLETO CREEK: Water stained; 79 degrees (87 degrees at discharge); 2.58' low. Black bass are fair on minnows. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on white spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on trotlines baited with perch and shrimp. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with perch.

FALCON: Water stained; 75 degrees. Black bass are excellent on deep running crankbaits and fair on Carolina rigged soft plastics in 4-8 feet. Striped bass are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on cut bait and stinkbait in the river. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water murky; 0.05' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and pumpkinseed Texas and Carolina rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are good on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, and nightcrawlers.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon/green soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and white/blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, bait shrimp, and liver.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 78 degrees; 0.42' high. Black bass to 6 pounds are good on pumpkinseed soft plastics and perch colored crankbaits near the dam and near the subdivisions on the north and south sides of the lake. White bass are good along the northeast shore. Crappie are very good on live minnows at the pump station in 7 12 feet, and near the islands in 15 feet. Bream are excellent on live worms off piers and grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch and shad.

LIVINGSTON: Water stained; 82 degrees; 0.15' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and topwaters. Striped bass are good but small on pet spoons and hellbenders. White bass are very good on hellbenders, pet spoons, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are very good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water murky; 72 degrees; 1.31' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red and pumpkinseed soft plastics and Brush Hogs. White bass are fair on minnows, hellbenders, and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and tube jigs over brush piles. Bream are fair on nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.

STEINHAGEN: 1.46' high. No report available.

TOLEDO BEND: Water murky; 71 degrees; 0.09' low. Black bass are good on soft plastic worms and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on bucktail jigs. White bass are fair on silver spoons and slabs in the river. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over baited holes in 12 feet. Bream are good on crickets and nightcrawlers. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

PANHANDLE

GREENBELT: Water stained; 64 degrees; 28.81' low. Black bass to 6 pounds are good on shad pattern spinnerbaits and crankbaits, black/blue jigs and large tubes worked along grass lines, with a buzzbait bite during mid-afternoon. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and shallow white crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and white/black back crankbaits along points. Walleye are good on live baits and crankbaits. Catfish are good on live baits.

MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 78.94' low. Black bass are good on minnows and orange/gold Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on live baits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and shad-colored crankbaits. Walleye are good on minnows. Catfish are good on live baits.

MEREDITH: Water stained; 63 degrees; 71.78' low. Black bass are good on minnows, black/blue jigs or soft plastic worms or tubes, and white spinnerbaits around rocky points along grass lines with some topwater action along outer rocky points. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live baits and white spinnerbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and brown/chartreuse crankbaits. Walleye are good on live baits along north end of lake and outside the Marina. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

PALO DURO: Water stained; 57 degrees; 56.81' low. Black bass are fair on live baits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on minnows. Walleye are fair on live baits. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

WEST

ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 1.00' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits along creek channels tree lines, and on black/blue or black/chartreuse soft plastics and jigs worked in brush. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on live baits.

ARROWHEAD: Water moderately stained; 68 degrees; 4.60' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits or black/blue jigs off rocky points and rip-rap. Crappie are good on minnows fished at the east side bridges, state park piers and off rip rap in 6-10 feet with spawning almost over. White bass are fair trolling and casting to rocky points near Pawnee Point boat ramp. Blue Catfish are good drift fishing with cut shad or cheese baits on flats at 12-15 feet depth.

COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 66 degrees; 9.45' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 65 degrees; 3.66' low. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and chrome/black crankbaits. Catfish are fair on live baits.

HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 66 degrees; 5.48' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits, and watermelon pepper soft plastics worked along edges of reeds and trees. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid stripers are good on live baits. Catfish are good on live and prepared baits.

NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 65 degrees. Black bass are fair on live baits, white spinnerbaits and Carolina-rigged watermelon red soft plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair. White bass and striped bass are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on live baits.

OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 59 degrees; 5.03' low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits and live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on live baits.

O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 12.81' low. Black bass are good on live baits, shad-colored chatterbaits or spinnerbaits, junebug soft plastic baits in brush and trees, and topwater action along grass lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and silver crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on gold/black crankbaits and live baits. Channel catfish are good on live and stink baits.

POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained; 71 degrees; 4.01' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits, red and black soft plastic baits, and silver Rat-L-Traps in the back of creeks. Crappie are fair on minnows and yellow jigs in Rock, Caddo and Cedar Creeks. White bass are good on silver Rat-L-Traps in Hell's Gate and Neely's Slough. Stripers are good on silver spoons and crankbaits in Hell's Gate and Neely's Slough. Catfish are good on live shad and cut liver.

SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 56.90' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.

STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 4.00' low. Black bass are good on live baits, and white spinnerbaits or crankbaits along grass lines, and on buzzbaits early and mid-day. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White and striped bass are good on live baits. Catfish are good on cut and live baits.

SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 63 degrees; 5.42' low. Black bass are fair on live baits and baby bass crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and white inline spinnerbaits. Catfish are good on live baits.

WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 63 degrees; 21.70' low. Black bass are good on live baits, watermelon soft plastic baits or green pumpkin jigs worked around stickups and brush. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Walleye are good on live baits and chrome jerkbaits. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

WICHITA: Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 0.07' low. Channel catfish and carp are fair. The boat ramp is open and reported as "serviceable."

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Runoff from recent rains have swelled the river and pumped freshwater on the north end of the lake.

SOUTH SABINE: Sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair around the Reef on live shrimp.

BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

TRINITY BAY: Waders have taken trout on Catch 5s and topwaters. Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish are good at the spillway on crabs and mullet.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and Catch 2000s. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Waders have taken good trout in the mud and shell on topwaters and Corkies in the afternoon. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs.

TEXAS CITY: Black drum have been taken in the channel. Redfish are a fair to good in Moses Lake on shrimp and mullet.

FREEPORT: Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs. Black drum are good in Cold Pass and San Luis pass on cracked blue crabs.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: Small redfish have been caught by waders on the south shoreline. Trout are fair to good for drifters in the afternoon on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: Redfish are fair to good in Oyster Lake on shrimp. Trout are fair on shell and grass on soft plastics. Black drum are fair to good at the jetty on crabs.

PORT O'CONNOR: Trout and redfish are good on topwaters in waist-deep water in San Antonio Bay. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp.

ROCKPORT: Redfish are fair on mullet on the Estes Flats. Black drum are good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout and redfish are fair to good at East Flats on small topwaters. Black drum are good in the Shrimpboat Channel on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Redfish are fair to good around Shamrock Cove on small topwaters and spoons. Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good around rocks on plum plastics. Trout are fair to good over sand and grass on Corkies and topwaters. Black drum are good in the Land Cut on crabs.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are good on topwaters around sand and grass holes on topwaters and plastics under rattling corks. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on gold spoons and Gulps.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Snook are fair to good in South Bay on DOA Shrimp.

PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are fair to good at Gas Well Flats on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good while drifting sand flats on small topwaters, live shrimp and soft plastics under rattling corks.
