AROUND THE STATE

AUSTIN (AP) -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Oct. 28. (Full report available on Web at www.BrazosOutdoors.com.)

CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water clear. Black bass are very good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and chartreuse Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on live minnows and pink/white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on frozen shrimp and bloodbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.

BELTON: Water stained; 71 degrees; 4.69' high. Black bass are good but small on white spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on white Riversides and Sassy Shad at night under lights. White bass are good on white Riversides and silver/green Sassy Shad at night under lights. Crappie are good on minnows in 10-12 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on summer sausage, hot dogs, and Owens sausage. Yellow catfish are slow.

BROWNWOOD: Water stained; 70 degrees; 7.30' low. Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on buzzbaits, June bug worms, frogs, Persuader crankbaits, and redbug and watermelon red Grande Bass 4" Trickster worms on 3/16oz. jigs along docks, around rocks, and over brush piles in 8-15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies and crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish to 3 pounds are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 12-15 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN: Water clear; 71 degrees; 27.31' low. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps, white Spinnerbaits, and white/chartreuse back crankbaits in 8-20 feet. At midday switch to JDC skirted craws on jigheads, root beer JDC Drop Shot worms on drop shot rigs, and grape Scoundrel worms along deepwater creek ledges. Striped bass are good on Zara Spooks, Red Fins, Spoiler Shads (plastic swim baits) and drifting or free lining live bait from Shaw Island to Lighthouse Point in 25-40 feet on the surface at daylight. White bass are slow to fair on Tiny Traps and 2" plastic swim baits along the river channel in 12-25 feet. Crappie are good on pink/white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows in clear water. Channel catfish are good on liver, minnows, and cheesebait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on live and dead shad.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 69 degrees; 12.50' low. Black bass are fair to good on Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs, watermelon red Whacky Sticks on wacky rigs, and Texas rigged 6" pumpkin Scoundrel worms along main lake bluffs in 12-25 feet, and on white spinnerbaits in standing timber in 4-8 feet. Striped bass are slow to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits over and around humps, and jigging 1oz. Pirk Minnows at daylight. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on smoke JDC grubs and 3/16oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching JDC craw trailers in 12-28 feet early. Crappie are fair on minnows and crappie jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live goldfish and perch.

COLEMAN: Water clear; 71 degrees; 9.89' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse crankbaits and watermelon red soft plastic worms. Hybrid striper are good on live minnows. Crappie are fair on live minnows and blue tube jigs over brush piles. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water fairly clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on live minnows near the boat ramp. Crappie are slow. Catfish are fair on liver and nightcrawlers in deep holes.

FAYETTE: Water clear; 73 degrees. Black bass are good on shad patterned Pop-R's and Spittin' Images early. Red ear perch are good on worms in 2-8 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow.

GRANBURY: Water stained; 0.38' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics off points. Striped bass are fair on live minnows. White bass are fair on minnows and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.

GRANGER: Water stained; 70 degrees; 6.09' high. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps off points. Crappie are good on chartreuse jigs tipped with Berkley Crappie Nibbles in 7-14 feet. Blue catfish are fair on fresh shad. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines in timbered areas near the mouth of Willis Creek and the river.

LBJ: Water stained; 72 degrees; 0.18' low. Black bass are good on clear swim baits, Curb's buzzbaits, and watermelon/purple flake Whacky Sticks along seawalls and creek points in 2-12 feet at daylight. Striped bass are good on Creme 2" Spoiler Shads and Li'l Fishies at night. White bass are fair to good on Li'l Fishies at night. Crappie are fair on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows over brush piles in clear water. Channel catfish are good on minnows and liver. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water murky; 70 degrees; 6.22' high. The boat ramp near the swim beach is open. The boat ramp near the marina is closed. The marina fishing dock is open. Crappie Point is open but the walkway is submerged. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait and shad. Blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water stained; 71 degrees; 7.70' low. Black bass are good on black and purple soft plastic worms. Striped bass are good on silver/blue Rat-L-Traps. White bass are good on cut shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and shad. Yellow catfish are good on live bait.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 70 degrees; 0.72' high. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

STILLHOUSE: Water stained; 70 degrees; 6.83' high. Black bass are good on tequila sunrise Power Baits. White bass are good on watermelon red and green pumpkin soft plastics in 15 feet. Crappie are good on minnows in 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on chicken livers and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS: Water stained; 70 degrees; 37.33' low. Black bass are fair on topwaters, dark worms, and crankbaits in 5-15 feet. Striped bass are fair on white grubs and jigging spoons in 30-40 feet. White bass are fair on chrome jigging spoons and minnows in 25-38 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs in 15-30 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 6 pounds are fair on nightcrawlers and fresh cut bait in 28-42 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG: Water stained; 71 degrees. Black bass are good on minnows and cut bait. Hybrid striper are good on minnows and cut bait. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows near the dam. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water stained; 2.31' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits, and on watermelon topwaters early and late. Striped bass are fair on live minnows. White bass are good on minnows and hellbenders. Crappie are good on minnows and pink tube jigs. Catfish are fair on frozen shrimp, stinkbait, and minnows.

NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water fairly clear, 62-69 degrees; 0.81' high. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps, spinnerbaits and Texas rigged watermelon candy Baby Brush Hogs. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers. Bream are fair on catalpa worms.

BOB SANDLIN: Water murky; 63-68 degrees; 0.06' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigged Baby Brush Hogs, jigs and drop shot rigs fished around pads and off points. White bass are fair to good on Rooster Tails and Humdingers. Catfish are good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

BRIDGEPORT: Water fairly clear; 61-67 degrees; 8.78' low. Black bass are good on spinner- and buzzbaits early, midday switching to crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers. Bream are fair on crickets and red wigglers.

CADDO: Water murky; 62-68 degrees; 5.2' high. Black bass are fair on flukes, Senkos, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits early, later switching to Texas rigged worms and Sweet Beavers. Crappie are fair on jigs and shiners over brush piles. Bream are slow. Catfish are good on limb lines and trotlines.

CEDAR CREEK: Water stained; 63-67 degrees; 0.52' high. Black bass are good on jigs with trailers, spinnerbaits and drop shot rigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair to good on live baits and slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

COOPER: Water murky; 61-66 degrees; 3.89' high. Black bass are good on buzzbaits early, later switching to Texas rigs and chartreuse/white chatterbaits. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on Rooster Tails and Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 79-89 degrees. No report available.

FORK: Water murky; 62-68 degrees; 0.48' high. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits and Yellow Magics early, midday switching to DD22s, Carolina rigs and 3/4oz. jigs with trailers. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows and jigs around structure. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

GRAPEVINE: Water off color to murky around the creeks; 62-67 degrees; 4.84' high. Black bass are slow to fair on dark soft plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over planted brush piles. White bass are fair to good on slabs and Rooster Tails. Catfish are fair on prepared baits and nightcrawlers.

JOE POOL: Water off color; 62-67 degrees; 5.19' high. Black bass are fair on topwaters early, later switching to jigs and Carolina rigs. Crappie are slow to fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on Humdingers over mid-lake humps. Catfish are fair on cut and prepared baits.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 63-68 degrees; 14.03' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

LAVON: Water stained; 62-67 degrees; 4.39' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and topwaters in the shallows. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around structure. Catfish are fair on cut shad and prepared baits.

LEWISVILLE: Water murky to stained; 63-67 degrees; 4.59' low. Black bass are fair on chatterbaits, shaky-head rigged Tornadoes and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are fair to good on slabs and live bait. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and live shad. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

MARTIN CREEK: 0.05' low. No report available.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 85-93 degrees; 0.08' high. No report available.

PALESTINE: Water lightly stained; 61-67 degrees; 1.5' high. Black bass are fair to good on Rat-L-Traps, spinnerbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in the marinas and over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow to fair on live shad. White bass are fair to good on Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.

RAY HUBBARD: Water fairly clear; 62-67 degrees; 0.2' high. Black bass are good early on topwaters, later switching to Texas rigs, drop shot rigs and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on 2oz. slabs and live shad. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

RAY ROBERTS: Water muddy to medium stained; 62-65 degrees; 2.89' high. Black bass are fair to good on Booyah 1/4oz. spinnerbaits and watermelon Yum Sooies moving to flooded vegetation. Crappie are good on jigs and Road Runners over brush piles. White bass are excellent on C.C. jigging spoons under the birds. Catfish are excellent.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 63-68 degrees; 1.56' high. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters and spinnerbaits early, midday switching to Carolina rigs and drop shot rigs. White bass are fair on slabs and topwaters. Hybrid striper are fair on large slabs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on prepared baits and cut shad.

TAWAKONI: Water fairly clear; 63-68 degrees; 2.19' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, jigs and Texas rigs in 2-7 feet. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and cheese bait. White bass are fair on Humdingers and slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on live shad and slabs.

TEXOMA: Water off color; 62-67 degrees; 1.94' high. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early, midday switching to Texas rigs, Carolina rigs and medium to deep diving crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs around bridges and over brush piles. Striped bass are fair to good on slabs and topwaters (follow the birds). Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

WEATHERFORD: Water lightly stained; 62-68 degrees; 2.62' low. Black bass are fair to good on medium diving crankbaits, Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in the crappie house and over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair to good on worms, liver and cheese bait. White bass are slow to fair on slabs. Bream are fair on worms.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water stained; 63-67 degrees; 23.89' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, midday switching to medium diving crankbaits, Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared baits and nightcrawlers.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: Water stained; 73 degrees; 2.39' low. Black bass are fair on topwaters, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on topwaters and large jerkbaits. White bass are slow. Catfish are fair on cheesebait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

BRAUNIG: Water stained; 72 degrees. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms in reeds and near the jetty and dam. Striped bass are good on liver and shad near the pier and at Dead Tree Point, and on silver and gold spoons and marble spinnerbaits near the jetty and dam. Redfish are good on perch, shrimp, shad, tilapia, and silver spoons, and down rigging spoons near the jetty and dam. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cut bait, and cheesebait near the dam and the intake. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.

CALAVERAS: Water stained; 72 degrees. Black bass are fair on dark soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits around reed beds, near the dam, and in Granny's Cove. Striped bass are slow. Redfish are good on live bait and down rigging spoons with green grubs between the crappie wall and the dam in 15-20 feet, and on perch and tilapia near the dam and Spider Island. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad near the railroad bridge and 181 Cove. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water clear; 73 degrees; 9.19' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon green soft plastics in 15-25 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Drum are good on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver and stinkbait in 5-15 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch and goldfish.

COLETO CREEK: Water stained; 72 degrees (85 degrees at discharge); 2.40' low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits in 10-20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs in 10-18 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

FALCON: Water clear; 75 degrees. Black bass are good on topwaters and on deep running crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut bait and shrimp in the river. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water stained; 0.27' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon gold soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and topwaters in 10-20 feet. Striped bass are fair on live minnows and green striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and blue/white tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, and nightcrawlers.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are good on chartreuse blue soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are very good on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, and live bait.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water stained; 73 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass to 4 pounds are good on topwaters and June bug/red flake Finesse worms in 7-14 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on live minnows in 18 feet. Bream are good on worms off piers and over grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with shad and perch.

LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 71 degrees; 1.66' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on pet spoons, slabs, and hellbenders. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water stained; 72 degrees; 3.97' low. Black bass are good on topwaters, soft plastic worms, and spinnerbaits early. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Bream are fair on worms. Catfish are good on punchbait.

STEINHAGEN: 1.23' high. No report available.

TOLEDO BEND: Water stained; 71 degrees; 0.80' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and topwaters early, and later on redbug or black/blue worms off points. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in 20 feet. Bream are good on nightcrawlers. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

PANHANDLE

GREENBELT: Water stained; 55 degrees; 32.39' low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits, black/blue soft plastic lizards or worms, and live bait worked along trees and brush. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and shad-colored jerkbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait and shad-colored crankbaits. Walleye are good on live bait. Catfish are good on live bait.

MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 60 degrees; 78.37' low. Black bass are fair on live bait, white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, and crankbaits along timber. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on live bait and shad-colored jerkbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait. Walleye are fair on live bait. Catfish are good on cut bait.

MEREDITH: Water stained; 58 degrees; 75.86' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and soft plastic lures, and live bait worked along rocky drop-offs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait and shad-colored crankbaits along rocky points and grass line. Walleye are good on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live bait.

PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 52 degrees; 58.93' low. Black bass are slow on live bait. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait and shad-colored crankbaits. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live bait.

WEST

ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 2.92' low. Black bass are fair on white/blue spinnerbaits and black black/chartreuse ringtail soft plastic worms along grass and tree lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on live bait.

ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 6.53' low. Black bass are good on crankbaits suspended 1-4 feet near rocky structures and submerged vegetation. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows suspended 14-16 feet off the derricks. White bass are good off rocky points with some surface action. Blue Catfish are fair on cheese bait or on juglines baited with shad.

COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 69 degrees; 11.74' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 69 degrees; 5.62' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits and live bait. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on live bait.

HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 7.52' low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits and shad-colored soft jerkbaits worked along grass lines or through stickups, and green pumpkin soft plastics worms worked along timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid stripers are good on live bait. Catfish are good on live bait.

NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees. Black bass are fair on live baits and white spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair on live bait. White bass and striped bass are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on live bait.

O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 66 degrees; 20.51' low. Black bass are good on square-bill shad-colored crankbaits, red Rat-L-Traps, live bait, and black/blue soft plastics worked around timber and rocky areas. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait and chrome crankbaits . Smallmouth bass are good on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live bait.

POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained; 67 degrees; 4.83' low. Black bass are fair on shad-colored crankbaits or slow-rolled spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on live bait and jigs in Rock Creek area. White bass are good on silver jigging spoons and small crankbaits near Costello Island and Sand Island. Stripers are good on topwater lures, silver spoons and Rat-L-Traps along the Gaines Bend points. Catfish are fair on live bait in the north area.

SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 61.90' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.

STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 3.21' low. Black bass are fair on shad-colored spinnerbaits and live bait along timber and rocks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White and striped bass are good on live bait and silver jerkbaits. Catfish are good on live bait.

SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 6.68' low. Black bass are fair on live bait or white spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait. Catfish are fair on cut or live bait.

WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 61 degrees; 24.69' low. Black bass are fair on Carolina-rigged watermelon soft plastic lures or live bait. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are fair on live bait.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad on soft plastics. Redfish and flounder are good in the marsh on shrimp.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad. Redfish are good at the jetty on live bait and cracked crabs.

BOLIVAR: Trout, black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass. Trout are fair to good while drifting shell on plastics. Bull redfish are good on the beachfront.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout are good under birds when the wind allows.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout and large Gulf trout are good for drifters working deep shell on plastics and fresh shrimp. Redfish and flounder are fair to good in the marsh around drains on shrimp. Trout and redfish are good under the birds when the wind allows.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Bull redfish and flounder are good at San Luis Pass on shrimp and shad. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Trout are good under the birds when the wind allows.

TEXAS CITY: Gulf trout are good in the channel on fresh shrimp. Birds are working on the outgoing tide when the wind allows.

FREEPORT: Redfish are fair to good on the reefs in Christmas Bay and Bastrop Bay. Bull redfish are good around Surfside and at the Quintana jetty on crabs, shrimp and mullet.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout and redfish are fair under the birds when the wind allows. Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Trout and flounder are fair to good on muddy shorelines on soft plastics.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics and topwaters. Redfish are fair on live shrimp at Shell Island, Oyster Lake, Crab Lake and Mad Island.

PORT O'CONNOR: Black drum are good on shrimp in Hynes Bay. Redfish are best in the back lakes on shrimp and mullet. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs, mullet and shad. Trout are fair to good on the reefs in San Antonio Bay.

ROCKPORT: Redfish are good in Redfish Bay on mullet and crabs. Bull redfish are good in the Lydia Ann Channel and around Mud Island on shrimp and crabs.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout are good on broken-backs around Shamrock Cove. Redfish are fair at Shamrock Cove and Pelican Island on topwaters and Gulps. Bull redfish are good at the jetty and on the beachfront on natural baits.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Bull redfish are good in the surf on mullet and shrimp. Trout are fair for waders working mud and grass on small topwaters and Corkies.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are good on topwaters and plum plastics around rocks and grass. Trout are good while drifting deep rocks on plum plastics.

PORT MANSFIELD: Redfish are good while drifting pot holes on topwaters and soft plastics under a popping cork. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the spoils on small topwaters and gold spoons.

SOUTH PADRE: Redfish are good in Airport Cove and on the Gas Well Flats on DOA Shrimp and TTF Flats Minnows. Snook are solid in South Bay on topwaters and good on shrimp in the Brownsville Ship Channel. Some areas of the flats have suffered from red tide.

PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are good at Laguna Vista and Holly Beach on TTF Flats Minnows and Brown Devil Eyes. Snook and mangrove snapper are good in the Brownsville Ship Channel.
