Lee County Ducks Unlimited chapter makes Top 100 list
GIDDINGS -- The Lee County chapter of Ducks Unlimited made The President's Top 100 this year, designating it as among the nation's best fundraisers among the 3,500 DU chapters.
"These fundraising events are the backbone of how DU conserves habitat and the volunteers who make up these chapters are the on-the-ground conservationists making a difference for North American waterfowl populations," DU president John Pope said. "It takes a lot of effort to crack the Top 100 and these chapters deserve to be congratulated from every person who enjoys the outdoors."
Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving North America's disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, DU has conserved more than 13 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent.
